Perhaps the straightforward answer is to be the most comprehensive site about the art of urban sketching on the Internet.
But the more important answer is to encourage the pursuit of a regular art habit that helps us to slow waaaay down and take in the incredible world around us.
About Taria (Founder of Urban Sketching World)
I’m Taria, a sketcher from the UK who has been bumbling around the world for the last few years pursuing creative adventures such as urban sketching but also things like silversmithing!
I discovered urban sketching somewhere around 2012 but didn’t quite get the confidence up to sketch outside until 2014 or so. The fear is real!
After trying all sorts of mediums and all sorts of styles as a hobbyist artist I finally settled on urban sketching in ink & watercolour as my true passion. It marries perfectly with my love of travelling. It’s the perfect activity when you’re travelling alone with nothing but a backpack.
